Violinist, Recording Artist & Live Experience Creator
Nina (Baba Nina) is a professional acoustic and electric violinist based in Orlando, Florida.
Originally from Chisinau, Moldova, Nina and her family immigrated to America in 1992.
At the age of seven, Nina began studying violin under the guidance of her grandfather, Petr Solodchenko, a distinguished violinist and former concertmaster who performed for dignitaries with orchestras around the world. Influenced by the legacy of her great-grandfather, Ignat Solodchenko, a double bassist known for adapting concertos beyond their original instrumentation, and her great-grandmother, Nina Solodchenko (née Davydova), a pianist recognized for improvising accompaniment to silent films, Nina continues a multigenerational musical lineage rooted in both classical tradition and interpretive artistry.
Nina's musical endeavors have led her to share the stage with acclaimed artists such as OneRepublic, Weird Al Yankovic, Ramin Djawadi, Andrea Bocelli, Michael Bolton, Disturbed, Bernadette Peters, Jackie Evancho, Sofia Carson, and numerous others. Nina has also appeared on ABC Network, Disney Channel, Disney+, and HULU. Notably, she has also performed under the baton of renowned conductors including John Williams, JoAnn Falletta, and Jun-Ho Pak, among others.
While rooted in classical training, Nina’s work focuses on bridging genres and fostering collaboration across diverse artistic disciplines. She is drawn to the emotional and perceptual effects of sound and frequency, and explores how these elements shape atmosphere, memory, and presence. These influences are woven into her evolving musical language.
In 2026, Nina founded Lantern Hour as an immersive live performance series exploring the emotional resonance of sound and frequency in intimate settings.
She is an advocate for the presence of the arts in public education and embraces street performance as a form of accessible artistic expression. Outside of music, Nina enjoys running, photography, Tetris, and spending time with her family and pets.
